I had an excellent experience at this pub, particularly thanks to Sacha at the bar, who provided outstanding service. The establishment was very clean, and the menu was easy to read. I ordered the Sunday roast, and I must say it was a solid 10/10 for standard meal sizes, which we found to be quite sufficient. They also offer larger portions if needed. Given the affordable prices and attentive staff, I will definitely be returning. Thank you for the wonderful service!
We visited this restaurant as a family last month, and everyone agreed it’s the best Hungry Horse we’ve been to (and we’ve been to quite a few!). The staff were extremely friendly, and our order arrived without any mistakes. The service was impressively quick, and the food was hot and served all at once, even with a large group. We will definitely return—it's a must-visit for great family dining when in Southend!
Food was good, service was friendly and welcoming and prompt. Only issue was the amount of menu items they were out of. Some were obvious on the app, others not until you went to pay. Also, I added a duplicate meal by mistake, I know I deleted it but didn't double check it had gone and ended up ordering it.
We came in a few weeks ago for late lunch it was lovely! I had cheeseburger chips I must admit it was the best I've had in a long time, my husband had the steak he said it was the nicest he has had in ages, plates were hot, staff pleasant helpful. I lived nearby for 22 years, but it wasn't until I moved away that I finally returned to dine here. The restaurant is lovely—clean, airy, and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. I can't believe I waited so long to come back!
Had a lovely meal yesterday. Had a cheese burger . Everything was cooked nicely. One child had the pasta meal and the others chicken nuggets with chips and garlic bread. Toilets needed abit of tlc and the lady on bar wasn't that friendly but hey ho.
We just returned to the Anne Boleyn. Another amazing experience. The new landlord gave the pub a sense of fun. Love it. What a well-run pub. The atmosphere was excellent, the food was amazing and Claire offered 5 star service. Can't wait to return

Went for a Christmas meal, large portions, reasonable prices, large pub environment, service was quick and efficient. Will be going back.
