I have been on a little bit of an Adelaide Italian binge lately, just to see if I can change my mind about paying a fortune for simple Italian dishes, and I can’t! Not yet, anyway!Antica is quite a lovely restaurant, industrial meets authentic, meets chic, I like it. Whilst perusing the menus, I noted a $13 pizza special on the boards and wanted to investigate.When we had made our foodie decisions, I asked the friendly waitress about the special on the board and she mentioned the pizza is for a 9in only, which is fine as we wanted a pasta dish as well. We ordered the polenta chips, baked gnocci and the eggplant parmy pizza.Polenta chips came out fairly quickly and were nice enough, not great...
Having travelled Italy and eaten at places that "claim to have authentic Italian pizza" around major cities interstate... right here in Adelaide is the real deal for Australia. A pizza base Nonna would be proud of and the simplicity of fine sourced produce. Classic Italian flavours in a comfortable and understated ambience, there's no doubt you want to come back. The unmistakable sound of the uniquely beautiful Italian accent from the service crew and out of the open kitchen grants you that welcoming reassurance that you are in good hands! Enjoy the Tiramisu, we sure did! Thank you Antica Pizzeria!
Came in with a friend, ordered two glasses of wine, one pizza and aranchini. The food was all excellent but the service was in the toilet. Once seated we asked for the menu and some water, didn't get it. Had to go up to the bar and were told "we do table service" waited 5 mins for our water and menu and then waited a further 15 to place our order. We both ordered red wine and the waitress brought white. When we said it wasn't what we had ordered she said it was and insisted we keep them. Had to flag the manager and get it changed. Food was delicious but didn't make up for the service.
Fresh, tasty food served to correct temperature in a timely fashion.Waitstaff were friendly & attentive but not overbearing.Cosy interior but temperature far too warm for my personal taste; I felt like I had to strip down to a cami (in the middle of winter!).Parking can be a bit tricky, depending on time, but a couple of drive-by's in the street opposite or dimly lit carpark to the rear will usually yield positive results.Recommend the arancini balls & rucola salad.Don't forget to make a reservation! We have here for traditional Italian wood oven pizzas. We were NOT disappointed. Pizzas were delicious, I could not stop eating! The toppings were fresh and vibrant. No bland pizza sauce here! The base alone was so yummy, i could eat that by itself! Service was excellent too. Will definitely be back!
Had a variety of meals at our table. The pizzas were light and tasty. The gnocchi was delicious. I can't remember the last time I ate a full bowl of gnocchi. It was so YUMMY! The picture is of a dessert pizza that we didn't have lol. It's full of Nutella!
Working down the road from here is great as you are always guaranteed a great lunch. Pizzas are amazing, not too heavy on the stomach. Pasta is also a great option.

The pizza was well cooked and the toppings were of good quality. The rocket salad was drenched in oil but was edible. Service was quick and friendly.
