I was initially wary to try a restaurant located on the main (only) road of this very pittoresque, lovely Swiss town. However, I did not regret it.Setting was fabulous (with a view on the lake and surrounding mountains).Service was polite and friendly (not at all customary in Switzerland, but maybe so in the italian part!).Food was good and of high quality. Local wine (Merlot Ticcino) was suprisingly good (above my expectations for the price).We realized after the meal that despite serving tourists, a lot of locals are actually part of the clientele.Prices are of course expensive (you are in Switzerland) but relatively fair when considering the quality served.I would definitely recommend, th...
Der Ort zum Mittag- oder Abendessen in Gandria! Resto Antico! Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und lustig! Der Chefkoch Antonio ist der Chefkoch. Schläft nicht viel. Liebt seine Küche. Bronzino war perfekt gemacht. Junge Kartoffeln dazu, die süßesten, die ich je gegessen habe). Als ich mich bedankte, lächelte er diskret zurück. Fleißiger Arbeiter aus Portugal. the place for lunch or dinner in gandria! resto antico! the personal is very attentive and funny! the chef antonio is the chef. doesn't sleep much. loves his kitchen . bronzino was made to perfection. young potatoes on the side the sweetest I ever had). when I said thank you, he smiled discreetly. hard worker from portugal . thanks antonio, davide and all the staff. they speak or try all the talking. We came early and were warmly welcomed, got a table at the front to the lake and a quick service. The card is relatively simple, local food, excellent, rather generous portions. An unserem ersten Abend in Lugano haben wir im Ristorante Antico gegessen. Es war eine großartige Entscheidung. Die Lage am See ist fantastisch und ich empfehle Ihnen dringend, draußen auf dem Balkon zu sitzen. Wir haben alle jeden Bissen genossen und werden vor unserer Abreise noch einmal vorbeischauen.
We were there as a family. Perfect location, nice terrace with breathtaking panoramic view on lake lugano, traditional ticinese food, large portions, attentive and personal reception and service, good atmosphere, location for a wonderfull sommer evening
