With 30 years of expertise in Japanese cuisine, this restaurant offers a selection of lunch and dinner entrees that, while somewhat limited, still delivers wonderful aromas. The shredded cabbage salad as a second course is a nice touch, and the service is a bit cheeky, adding to the experience. However, be aware that parking options are limited. Overall, the quality and prices are a step above average—it's true that you get what you pay for.
It's a bit on the expensive side, but it's definitely worth it. For lunch, you can either head to Bento or eat in. They offer Katsu as a main dish, with options including chicken, pork, or the fish of the day. If they have gyoza available, you absolutely have to try it. It's the best gyoza I've ever had, and it's made in-house.
Generally, delicious lunch. The hostess was gracious and attentive, noticed that my wife, Ramen, squirted on her clothes and brought us paper towels. We mainly decide to come here because it is right next to Hilo Brewing, but that was a great lunch and worth a visit. Of course also popular with locals.
Someone claimed this is the best tonkatsu in Hawaii, and I have to agree—it was the best I've ever had! My husband and I ordered the fillet, squid, and salmon-catsu plates. Best katsu I have had outside of Japan! Delicious and authentic. The staff is so incredibly friendly too. And the restaurant is BYOB so we went next door to the brewery to grab a 6 pack of beer for our meal. You must try this place if you love katsu and bento boxes!
Unbelievably good katsu. The prices are a bit high, but man it was so worth it. Most meals come with a cabbage and sweet potato salad as well as a sweet potato krokke. It was so much good food we were practically rolling out of the place.
Naomatsu welcomed us warmly, and the food was absolutely delicious! The tonkatsu came with a variety of sauce options, and the dressing for the cabbage salad was fantastic. If I lived here, I would definitely visit this place frequently.
This restaurant is amazing! I enjoyed everything I sampled. While there is a lot of fried food (definitely not suitable for a diet), the staff is fantastic, the sauces are homemade, and you can bring your own beer! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Delicious Authentic Tonkatsu is a bit pricey, but the portion sizes are generous, and the pork brain katsu was simply delightful.
