first, an 8 o'clock opening time seemed an untiringly late. At first, an 80 euro fee for a 3 cursor menu seemed quite expensive. but at the end of the evening we had revised our views. at the time the service was so phenomenal...good and efficient that we were in little more than an hour and half through, but without feeling of haste. other 3 courses in the city, repulse around 7.30 have spent the dinge until much later! on the worth aspekt, the two amuse bouches, which had such a perfunctory mentioned on the menu, proved to be very serious, in which did, especially a generously concentrated on cepes and truffles (black and white). similar to the cheese course that we did not want, but at a...

A friend from Clermont-Ferrand took me to Apicius for a special occasion. I have eaten in many restaurants in Clermont-Ferrand and in France over the past 10 years and this is by far the best restaurant I have visited. I liked the atmosphere and the lay-out of the restaurant as in contrast to other top quality restaurants we had plenty of space and could easily hear each other. I have a weakness for fois gras and it was absolutely fabulous. Each of us had different meals so we were able to taste 3 different entrees, main courses, desserts (and of course cheese). Pricy, a bit depressing atmosphere, but good !Being in Clermont-Ferrand I wanted to try one of the “starred” restaurants.Having tried some others before, I went for a new one : Apicius.The website was very nice.First I realized it was closed on weekends. This is bad.Then I managed to go on a Monday.The atmosphere is rather depressing. apicius is located in the heart of this picturesque city. High quality ingredients, dishes with different flavors and amazing presentation, excellent wine list combined with professional but also personalized service. I really appreciated the interior design of the restaurant that gives them the private sphere to enjoy these stunning dishes without listening to other customers, as there is a lot of space between the tables. for me that means that apicius respects his customers and tries to satisfy all their senses. Came to eat here on the recommendation of my son who had a meal which he was extremely enthusiastic about in January. This is a bit of a special occasion restaurant (given the prices) but the quality is undeniable. Between us my wife and I ate extremely well with food which is imaginative, well sourced and impressively handled. The decor is striking without being over the top and the service is both extremely capable and lacking in over formality.

my partner and I made a gastronomic route in the region. have the apostrophic menu, everything was perfect from start to end, eating was delicious, the wee recommended were before place and the staff was over and above. 100% worth a visit
