Rang restaurant several days before and left a message about booking a table for 5 friends. I received no reply or confirmation. Two days later on arrival I overheard people who were arriving that they had a table booking. Interesting. On sitting down at a vacant table which would accommodate 5 people I waited with a friend for 10 minutes then four unknown people just came and sat with us. No asking whether we were waiting for other people or not. How rude. Moving to another table a waiter came over asked how many were we waiting for and brought additional menu's. Once our friends arrived and sat down at a rectangular table it was very difficult to hear our friend talking fro the other side...
A lovely spot to enjoy a meal with friends. Hidden from the street frontage, walk through the cafe to a lovely outdoor area (it's undercover too!).The all day breakfast menu offers a good variety of choices. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a delicious selection of cakes and slices. The carrot cake muffin was superb!No need to park on the busy main road, there is a carpark out the back!
As first time Melbourne visitors, we have been delighted by the food. We had lunch yesterday at a little cafe called Apte and it was really good. The menu was modern and clean and green, and the presentation as outstanding. The Ricotta Hotcake was like a beautiful garden. Well done to the owners. PS pet friendly too. Very important. Our dog likes to dine out too!
I had the Chef's special and it felt like I was a judge on MKR as it looked great and tasted just as good. It was chorizo, chilli, avocado (patties) with onions and a fab bbq sauce and red slaw, delicious! The people I went there with all raved about their meals as well. This was for lunch. Apte is great. The staff are really lovely and accommodating, the food is always good - with interesting specials, and the coffee [with Bonsoy] is fantastic. It gets busy sometimes but they're always really great at getting you a table either inside or in the courtyard.
I hadn't been to apt for a while but my visit back was fantastic. In fact the apt scrambled eggs were amongst the best I have tasted. Coffee was excellent. Service was great. Maybe I should not be writing this review because this little secret will now be out.
My regular for coffee breakfast and lunch. Great place for a business meeting, or not so quiet thinking session. Always busy and friendly.

Good range of food for breakfast, fast service, reasonable prices. On a busy road at peak times but not an issue.
