Took our toddlers to get a coffee before going to the dinosaur museum this morning. My just turned 3 year old was upset and needed his nappy changed so I asked after the toilets. They made comments about his behaviour. Once changed we were sitting outside with some drinks for the kids and coffees. When we started to leave my son got upset again not wanting to leave. She came out and told my son off, stating there was a meditation class on just there. It is always a struggle going out with toddlers and at no point before that point did she mention there being a meditation class on. We were looking for a place to grab a bite to eat in Gold Creek with my disabled friend, so convenient parking was a must. After several unsuccessful attempts at other cafes, we decided to head towards Nicholls. Luckily, we stumbled upon this hidden gem by accident and were pleasantly surprised. The parking was easy, the staff were friendly, the food (waffles with fresh fruit) was delicious, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. We had the option to sit outdoors under cover or indoors to escape the heat, and we chose the latter. We are looking forward to coming back for another visit soon.
I’m writing this because I eat here at least three times a week and love it. I am in a business next door. I normally wouldn’t review but I noticed a review complaining that the kids are isn’t functioning, as if the cafe has anything to do with it. We’ve been asking our landlord to fix the dangerous roof in that area for about 18 months. It’s not the responsibility of the cafe or any of the tenants. Having said that, try the cafe because it’s yummy.

After visiting the Dinosaur museum, we stumbled upon Armdillos Cafe. Annie and Chris warmly welcomed us, even making accommodations for our 6 month old. The savory crepe and salad were delicious, and it's rare to find cafes like this where the food is homemade and served by the owners. Our son particularly enjoyed their soup. If you're in the Canberra area, it's definitely worth a visit.
We were in Gold Creek Village this afternoon and stopped in at Armadillos for a coffee. The staff were extremely friendly and we ended up taking a seat outside and having some fresh scones with our drinks. The cappuccino and hot chocolate came out nice and hot and the scones with jam and cream were also tasty. I would recommend this cafe if you are in the area.
Great food, coffee and milkshakes. Very welcoming, child friendly. Good outdoor area. Close to Cockington Green which no longer serves lunches.
The food was fantastic and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They were great with kids and the nachos were delicious.
