This place is a really popular local west african restaurant. It's always got a large cadre of clients piling in the door and it's always noisy so I thought I would give it a try. I can recommend the beers, which are very large, and the service is friendly. It's also incredibly loud considering that there are only maybe ten tables, as people all shout and laugh at the very top of their lungs and also the TV and music are all going simultaneously. I phoned the restaurant to place an order for pick up. The person on the phone took my order and informed me it would be ready in 20 minutes. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was informed by a rude individual that the establishment was closed, even though it was still during their regular opening hours. I explained that I had placed an order before coming. However, the man stated that he didn't know why the order was taken as they were closed and no one was cooking in the kitchen. I visited the restaurant around 6pm on a Friday, and it was not very busy. We sat down and within 2 minutes, the waitress asked if we were ready to order. I needed more time to look at the menu before deciding. We ordered 2 dishes of egusi soup with palava sauce and fish, along with 2 Fantas. They provided a bowl and soup for washing hands, and the food arrived shortly after. Unfortunately, the dishes were very bland and lacking in flavor, with no seasoning or pepper. Decided to try Asafo as it was recommended by a few people. The restaurant looks decent and seemed clean. My main problems are 1. The customer service is 0, don’t expect anything. 2. I order tilapia and it was not cooked properly, it is still RAW. The flavour was ok I would rate it a solid 4/10. 3. They served me over cooked yam chips but was able to serve another table a perfect portion. (Be consistent) On a brighter note I recommend their tsofi,shitto plantain. from a busy crossing of brixton hill is this African restaurant. we could smell the food outside and it was pretty busy on a Sunday night. we sat down and began to look at the menu. to be honest, I think myself a food, but I really didn't know what the half of the ingredients were in the descriptions, even a short google helped me eventually went for banku and okro, which was a spicy kisser stew with okra cooked with a side by Jollof rice (the okra had broken up, the onepot made a little slender inside.) it had different pieces of meat. the taste of the stew was quite good...read more
I have been here a few times now and cannot fault the food. The restaurant serves Ghanaian cuisine and I have been informed by the many Ghanaians eating here that it is authentic. Most food is spicy so beware if coming with someone who can't tolerate heat! It is however, a small place, gets very busy and wait time can be long. On saying that though, if it was bigger it would probably lose its charm. Will continue to come here again and again!
I would advise against ordering from this restaurant. A rude man yelled at me when I politely asked him to repeat himself because I couldn't hear him properly. His behavior was despicable and disrespectful. It's never acceptable to speak to someone in such a manner.

Great Ghanaian food. Everything I taste is good. On the downside. They have clearly outgrown the premises. It gets too crowded and the food can take ages. I can't fault it. If they move 5 stars from me.
