Pizza chefs are artists. The dough is their canvas, and the sauce is their sky. They uses pepperoni or onions as the highlights. And finally, the oven of as the thin layer of glazing fluid that makes the piece shine. Artists receive almost identical trainings but most are doomed to fail. It?s the details in the works that truly determines their success. I tried to appreciate the work, but Ascona is a failed artist; every single item is missing some crucial detail. From a plate of wings that are cold near the bone to a pizza that lacks flavors. There is always something missing. Chefs here are youthful, full of energy but lacking in experience. The whole restaurant is filled with kind workers...
I have good childhood memories of eating here. But my recent experience left a lot to be desired. The pizza wasn't that great and the service was about what I remembered. The pizza is really what brought me back but it turned out to be nothing like what I remembered. The pizza used to be just completely covered in cheese and pepperoni. Nearly every one of the pepperoni turned into a little crater of grease which was a beautiful sight to behold. When I got the pizza yesterday it had some cheese on it and some pepperoni but it reminded me more of pizza that I got from my elementary school cafeteria I did the Asconas that I used to get.
The bartender/server thin male spoke some Spanish to another customer) was super rude to another customer sitting next to us. It got so bad we walked out. Our pizza was not hot, waiter waited a long time before he brought it over.. not very hygienic. Place needs an inspection, especially this server. Be careful going to this place. It’s food poison bomb waiting to happen.
I would like to write this review to two excellent employees who go from Charlie and Amy, I came on the other day and got my own middle pizza and Charlie and Amy were super sweet and hilarous and were both very hard working respectful employees. Love them both, they're great and always bring a smile when I come in.

I moved out of the state for a few years and was excited to eat Ascona's pizza again. But this place is not what it is about pizza. I was very disappointed. Asconas Pizza is in my opinion just average, but prices still correlate with first-class pizza. Walk over the street or Tandoori Pizza a few minutes away.
My mom and I eat here often when I visit her. The stars are specifically for the pizza, that we both really enjoy. The environment is ok, although on warm days sitting outside is very nice. This is the best pizza we have found in the Danville area.
First time here after coming with my sister and her friends since they come all the time and now I know why. Loved the pizza and especially the wings. Great deals everyday and always a different deal too.
I always loved this place. Great pizza, great service, friendly staff. The only sad point is that I live 100 miles away, so the only time I visit this place is when I visit my children.
