My friend encouraged me to try Asensio Coffee after raving about their white coffee. We went in for a quick drink before a day of adventure.It’s funny because I feel like most coffee shops try to stick to a modern aesthetic that appeals to millennials and Gen Z, but this coffee shop had maintained the vibe of the early 2000’s coffee shop. The cafe was busy (in a good way) and the majority of customers were Gen X and older, which has never stood out to me as much as it did here. I truly think it is because they have maintained the familiar cafe feeling of the turn of the century.Something cool is that the cafe is definitely environmentally and healthy living positive. Staff was ether using one word or no response to basic courtesies. Such as what are you having in response to hello . I was there with 10 other people waiting on drinks and no line, which might explain the short and cutoff interactions.Atmosphere was nice, but did not feel welcoming for sitting to have my drink.The Alice Lake dark roast they used was very acidic and harsh, as well as leaving a strong burnt aftertaste. This was in a white mocha, which is already tons of sugar. Maybe it 's okay with some sugar pastry to blunt it. Might be better than Starbucks if you want something different, but not for me.
The coffee is decent, but get it to go! If you're looking for a place to work or have polite conversation, you might try Starbucks. The cafe has a nice interior with wifi and a bathroom, but it's not worth the stay. The regulars are loud and unfriendly, and they're not usually having kid friendly conversations. The coffee doesn't make up for the fact that you can't sit and enjoy your time there.
Amazing coffee!! Great flavor. A little hot so had to take a couple minutes to cool it down a bit but worth it. Scone was super tasty. Love how it wasn't overly buttery or sweet. Everything was on point!! Baristas and everybody behind the counter were all super friendly and helpful as well!!Food: 5/5
