I gave five stars because of the atmosphere and our waitress. My friend brought me here for lunch as part of my birthday adventure on our way to the Paranormal Circus. Upon entering, we were greeted by local at the bar and the bar tender. We chose to sit upstairs. It definitely had a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. My friend wanted to experience ghost, lol. We did not see or experience anything unusual. However, I did feel as if we were being watched the whole time. Nobody was upstairs until the very end if our meal. Was having an early Mother's Day lunch. We were seated right away off to the side. We were the only table on that side. The bar only had 1 person. The bartender came over and said she'd be our server. We gave her our order. The wait for our food was very long. Then when we got our food both mother's meals had issues. Nobody came back to refill drinks or check our food. When 2 people in the party were done with their meals, the server came back with what was missing on one of the meals and proceed to forget the drink refills. I had a late lunch, almost an early dinner, at Ashley’s. I’ve driven past this restaurant regularly for a while now and was eager to stop by. The prime rib was excellent—the fat was tender and melted in my mouth, which is a huge plus for me since I can’t stand it when it’s tough and hard to cut. I also had two dinner rolls and enjoyed every bite of both. They provided plenty of little butter packets, although I saw many left uneaten. My waitress was very attentive, and I enjoyed listening to the locals chatting about sports below. I ordered two burgers and a Reuben, all with fries to-go, which ended up costing nearly $40. I was happy to treat my relative in the hospital to a nice meal. We requested the burgers to be cooked medium; however, I understand that carry-over heat can often result in them being cooked more. Unfortunately, these burgers were nearly burnt. They were among the worst I've ever had. It’s disappointing that this was the first meal my family had after coming out of a coma. Really enjoyed the unique decor. We came earlier in the day so it wasn’t too busy. It was nice out so we chose to sit out on the back porch. Service was a little slow back there but the waitress was very nice. The food was good but pricey for what it is. The burgers and chicken products were the generic frozen stuff but still good. The Irish nachos were easily the best thing we had. There’s a “ghost story” on the back of the menu but besides that, there’s not too much emphasis put into the whole haunted experience.
This is place is such a gem! It's been around for ages, but my family and I only recently discovered it. The atmosphere is charming and fun and menu offerings are anywhere from burgers to fish fillets to Irish nachos a little something for everyone. I ordered the broiled haddock and it was delicious. Our waitress, Jenna, was perfect! Very friendly, helpful and just made an already excellent dinner even better with her cheerful attitude and smile. I can't believe it took me so long to find this place!
There’s something about the crinkle fries… I haven’t figured out why/how they’re so tasty. The regular fries are meh, so splurge for the crinkle cut fries… or the onion rings! I’ve been to Ashley’s three time (so far), getting the French dip each time (get it with the cheese to ensure that the yummy bread gets toasted). I need to expand my horizons. I love the atmosphere. It’s not so much the ghost as the hanging place and second-floor seating that make it feel like a welcome home.
The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff, particularly Crystal/Krystal, was excellent. The prices were quite reasonable. Interestingly, there seemed to be some spirits or ghosts present; while I was in the women's restroom, the lock unexpectedly unlocked and then locked again. Stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. Service was very friendly and efficient. The western burger did not disappoint. The history and character of the building was probably the best thing about it all. Prices are slightly higher than I'd like to see based on the products, but overall a decent place.
