I attempted to reserve a tee time for myself, my wife, and our 4-year-old grandson, who happens to be a talented golfer. However, I was informed that children under the age of 8 are not allowed on the course. This policy does not seem to be about pace of play, as that would not be an issue for us. We were disappointed by this rule, as we were hoping to encourage our grandson's interest in golf. This experience has led us to decide not to support Aspen Grove in the future, regardless of our grandson's age. There are other golf courses that welcome young golfers and deserve our business. Our experience at Aspen Grove Golf Course was disappointing due to the unfriendly service we received. Despite confirming that it was okay to bring our children when booking a tee time with friends, we were repeatedly approached by staff during our round about rules we had not broken. After finishing, we were told not to bring children again in the future. When we asked to speak to the manager, they became confrontational and threatened us with the police. This was our last visit to Aspen Grove Golf Course after being loyal customers for years.
I went golfing here today and all I can say is BRUTAL!!!!. Greens are in really bad shape and some of them a good 50% of the green is dirt and dead grass. It also looks like they have chosen not cut the rough as it was a good 4 inches long. Fwys look good but thats about it. I have heard that the course is due to be closed in a few yrs so Im pretty sure they are just running it into the ground. Pay a little more and go to a real golf course as I know I will.
4 of us did a round of 18 holes on this par 3, very nice people and relaxed rules, not so stuffy. It was a beautiful day and we had fun here. It put the fun back in golfing, or our attempt at it any way.
