Quite the interesting experience over all. They had a sign saying tourist not welcome, yet there I was a tourist in the establishment. I was not there to make a statement or judge, except for the food. This was my first ever visit to a fully vegan restaurant, and as an avid meat eater I was quite excited. Vegan and vegetarian restaurants typically have to be more creative, so my past experiences with vegetarian restaurants has manly been positive. There is no set menu, and it changes everyday. All the food is seasonal and locally sourced. We had five dishes, starting with hummus, gazpacho, pakora, potato and chocolate cake. We walked in expecting a welcoming atmosphere since its a vegan restaurant. Much to our despair we where greeted by confusion and distain. I spoke in Spanish to the waitress which asked me if we had a reservation we hadn 't (all tables were empty at this point). After that she told us to sit at a table and totally ignored us. We waited for her to place names on the tables, we didn 't want to disturb her obviously important work. Afterwards she stood by the bar looking exhausted . Quite a charming little restaurant in which you pay what you think it’s fair. They serve you a menu of three courses that change everyday, but are basically simple but delicious vegan dishes (soups, gazpacho, rices, salads) plus dessert. Don’t expect gourmet dishes as it’s more traditional stuff which is pretty decent. The food is really home made and the portions are generous. The staff is also very friendly, they ask you to join their association (an online form) in order to be part of the cause so you don’t pay, rather than that you make a donation. Interesting concept and will come back for sure.
An interesting concept of eating without menu and price. Yes! You are the one who give the price of the food by putting some money in the little box after you eat. And you eat the food that they prepared on that day (They normally have paella on Sunday). The drinking water is free and we can refill it as much as we want (but remember not to waste it). The place is cozy even though they do not have any air conditioner (it was very hot day when were there). The food is fresh and yummy. Tucked away on a corner of Calle Mare Vella, close to the northern edge of the Old City, this is quite a scruffy-looking small eatery and bar. Nevertheless it serves good vegan food where vegetables predominate. Good local produce and clever cooking made tasty meals at very reasonable prices.
I like the concept. I think ever city should have a place like this. The menu was simple but tasty. It begins from the appetizer to dessert. you pay what you think is worth and what you can afford as person. I found myself going there at lunch and at dinners.Go guys and go vegans!
This place has no menu and no fixed prices but the food is super tasty and it was a great experience : I loved that all the food is vegan and the people there are very friendly. If I visit Valencia again I will definitely stop by
