This restaurant is organized very well. It would be great to receive a warm smile and friendly welcome when entering. Being nice and pleasant to all customers is important as they are choosing to spend their hard-earned money here instead of cooking at home. With businesses being closed for months due to Covid19, it has been a challenging time for everyone. Treating customers well is essential for the success and longevity of a business. So, providing service with a smile is a definite plus.
The food portions are plentiful but some of the food is bland. Lots of parking. Haven't tried the smoothies but the recipes look good and I have heard good things. Usually get the fried whiting, collard greens, and Mac and cheese. That combo comes with 4 big pieces of fish and costs $13.99. The fish isn't greasy, it's lightly fried and barely seasoned. I use malt vinegar and tartar sauce to make up for that. One platter is enough for me to eat another full serving for lunch the next day.
We stopped in after a day in DC. We came about an hour before closing and had a very large party. The staff was very friendly and patient with us. The food was excellent! I had the Maryland crab balls with the mumbo sauce. I also go a white chocolate blueberry cheescake to go and it was delicious! Absolutely would get again! My brother really enjoyed his crab boil. Mid Atlantic never fails to give me REAL CATFISH. The fish is seasoned well and doesn't overpower the fish. The need to cook it just a little harder, but my air fryer does the trick when I get home. The portion was good. I usually get their brussel sprouts, which are really good and teryaki stringbeans. I'm picky about my Mac n cheese, so I don't bother.
