Lots of locals use this place which clearly means you get good value for money. It is a no frills establishment but the food was well cooked and tasty. We had salmon and steak. The plate de nuit or plate de jour also includes a serve yourself starter and desert plus cheese and cider.One word of caution for english people, they don't speak a word of english, and they get very full at midday.
Well cooked straight forward french cuisine. Excellent menu de jour for the price. We visit often for a casual night out. Good evening menu too - self service for starter and dessert, order taken for main course. Always a fish and meat option which is always nicely presented and cooked. Good choice of traditional desserts (chocolate mousse, ile floatant, apple crumble, rice pussing, etc)
Although not the best routiere we have visited, Au Bon Vent is a good stand in. Be there by noon or you may not get a table. The entrée, cheese and puddings are buffet style, but you are served your main hot dish at the table. There is some choice, but again, not as wide as some others we have visited. The food is tasty.
Friends took us here for an evening dinner, booking would be recommended as the place looked pretty full when we arrived. The menu was resonably priced, the food, drink and service was excellent. I would highly recommend and will return. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Often have eaten here lunch time. On this occasion we visited in the evening. We were not disappointed. Had the 17€ set menu with buffet starter and dessert. We ordered steak and a kangaroo steak. All perfectly cooked and delicious.
We had a very good experience here, overall great stuff. Mortain isn't the kind of place you'd want to go for tourism, pretty bleak actually but the restaurant makes it more worthwhile!
Set on the hill coming in/out of Mortain, this little hotel serves a great dinner. Food is local and further afield, fresh and tasty. Always enjoy a visit here.
