We were looking forward to a great evening among friends and booked a table about 2 months ahead. The result: great summer evening - and we had to sit with some other few inside - no view to the river (but there are anyhow not a lot of river view tables). We had to wait long for the card and got only one for two, we had to decide for dessert right from the beginning, as they said we are too many with 10 people. We did only get bread after a very long time and asking for it, one of us tasted the wine - but we were forgotten again afterwards - nobody else was served wine - after a while we started to serve ourselves - and had to continue with that the whole evening - nobody ever served us the...
This restaurant had come highly recommended from some friends who love their food, so it was even more of a shock when things just didn't stack up. When booking, I had asked for a table in a quiet area as we have a nervous dog (she has epilepsy so we have to be really careful), and was delighted to hear it was no problem. Arrived at 12.45 today for lunch, and we were placed in an incredibly noisy area, beside 2 huge group birthday tables. I immediately asked to be moved somewhere else as the noise was really invasive. went there on Mothering sunday...all seemed great at first, except the awful weather.but it went down hill from the moment we got our starters...had to ask 7 times for bread, food took ages to reach our table, people who arrived after us were served first...I am pretty easy going as a person but when going to a restaurant i expect the best especially when it is expensive. the staff was too young, badly managed and were lacking of common sense and memory. The food was not good either..I will not go back.
It is now becoming an annual lunch on Easter Sunday to go to Au Colombier. You need to book in advance as the place is full of locals enjoying the superb cuisine provided by Chef.The situation is perfect on the banks of the River Saone so ask for a table by the window to enjoy the views as well as the food and wine. Good and friendly service adds to the enjoyment. We will return again and again.

We had a family diner. The terrace is absolutely great. The bib gourmand menu with fish was really tasty, creative and overall very good price for the quality. The dessert was particularly good without being too sweat. At 9.30, the mosquitoes attack fiercely. The children menu is a bit expensive compared to usual prices, but as good as adults' one.
We called very late after spending hours driving around the Beaujolais in search of a nice auberge for dinner.We were warmly welcomed and well looked after.The meal was delicious from beginning to end... including the perfect Saint Marcellin cheese from well known Mere Richard!We will be back!
Great menu, very large restaurant looked overbooked and the staff struggled.Quality of the food was excellent, drinks very slow, plates not cleared quickly.Very few tables had views of the river, but still a nice outdoor setting.Service was so slow we skipped last course.
Our group of 9 spent a lovely evening. Charming restaurant. No river view at night but quiet and nice surroundings. Interesting menu well executed and delivered. Frogs, cod, interesting cheese selection accompanied by a 2009 Volnay and a Gevrey Moines 2007.

We went to Au Colombier for my father 80th birthday lunch with 10 adults and 8 children from 16 years old to 7 months old. The food is delicious and the restaurant Is well decored and has a great river view.
