Nach über einem Jahrzehnt wieder zu Besuch in Wissembourg. Leider war das Lokal, wo ich eigentlich hin wollte, abends geschlossen, so wählte ich "Au petit Dominicain". Man spricht Französisch UND Deutsch, sehr angenehm! Ich wählte ShrimpsCocktail auf Avocado und ein Hühnchen im Ofen, von dem ich erst beim Auftischen sehe, dass es sich um das GANZE Huhn handelte. WOW! Aber es war ein kleines, zartes Hühnchen, so dass ich wieder mal überlegen musste, ob ich nicht doch Veretarier werden möchte, als ich die nach oben gestreckten Flügel sah. Der Gedanke währte nicht lange, denn ich hatte Hunger und bereits über 45 Minuten auf das Hühnchen gewartet. Es war zart, gut gewürzt und vorzüglich. Leider...

I normally drive to Wissembourg once a month when I am off from work - I really enjoy the drive mostly around countryside and forests. I have met very friendly people there and I love to eat at Le Petit Dominicain. The owner (originally from Switzerland) is extremely friendly and very accommodating always. I love my Escargots of Course.. Great atmosphere to sit, relax, meet other travelers., the visit to The Cathedral is a MUST. There is a beautiful park where one can sit and listen to small concerts-- what a pleasure..
I've been attending this small restaurant, barely ten tables, since now a few years from my job, one of the few in the centre of wissembourg (a little excentrated) to accept customers until 9:30. I've never been disappointed. meats are of good quality, well cooked. game is a treat, for a really reasonable price. The staff is very kind, helpful, caring. a family atmosphere, friendly there reigns. I warmly recommend this restaurant.
Ich war mit einer Gruppe von Freunden dort, von denen manche nur eine Kleinigkeit essen wollten, andere jedoch auch mehrere Gänge. Alle Gerichte waren schmackhaft und es wurde auch gefragt, ob die Kleinigkeiten mit den Hauptgerichten gemeinsam serviert werden sollten, oder mit den Vorspeisen. Ich würde definitiv wieder kommen, wenn ich wieder in der Gegend wäre.

We have been eating here for twenty years and recently came back again after a long absence. The food is as good as ever. I had to laugh that the waitress still tells you that the chicken and almonds takes 45 minutes to prepare. The waitress doesn't seem to like her job and is not at all friendly. A pity really.
nice restaurant, well placed. And a little pleasure at the table. For me, it was a "Lamb bear ... 7 hours" anyway. 7 hours!just to thyme.And it was good!with a black pinot of sparr, not bad either.So do as we ... let chance take you there. And finally not so expensive.
Das Lokal gefällt durch eine hübsche Athmosphäre. Wir aßen das Tagesgericht zu Mittag. Nudeln mit Gemüse und Truthan. Leider ohne besondere Aromen oder Raffinesse. Eher Hausmannskost. Die Muscheln dagegen gut zubereitet mit einem gut parfümierten Sud.
