I am a celiac and specifically asked the waiter to be careful with my food. He assured me that no gluten was in the food I ordered. However I was informed that the sauce had actually wheat flour when I was half way of the meal. I need not to say how upset and subsequently sick I was. And the waiter was not very helpful either. It is a shame because the food was actually quite tasty.
We stumbled over this place when we stay close and try to find somewhere for a beer in the evening. We were welcomed and, even though we were cunning when we ordered 2 beers and a bowl of chips, were well treated. Beers were nice, like the chips. Good atmosphere beautiful place. Zero English but so make sure you know how to order your pomme frites en Francais!
We pulled of the motorway looking for some food and fortunately pulled into Bartenhiem, this restaurant was the only place open so we went in, the staff were very nice and so we had two salads which were enormous, and came with chips, it was a bit expensive but well worth the detour.
Since our hotel was terrible, we decided to eat here and stay a little longer. The food was freshly cooked and beautifully prepared. They had Al kind of local courts and general stuff aswell. That didn't speak Al Lot English, but that wasn't important, then we are very friendly Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Food was very nice but we could only afford the main course. We tried to speak some French but as soon as the waiter heard us speak English he went to serve someone who had arrived after us. Service was poor but a nice decor in the restaurant.
Looks like a family business that's run very well with great service . The menu has traditional Alsace dishes as well as standard fare. We have visited probably more than 6 times in the last couple of years and it never disappoints.
Very good restaurant with extensive menu. Particularly good fillet mignon. We were fortunate enough to arrive during the white asparagus season which was delicious. Highly recommended for excellent food and service.
