After reading TA reviews, photos and suggestions, we gave this restaurant a shot. From the outside, the restaurant is nothing special. I even thought we were in the wrong place as the terrace looks untidy due to works, plastic furniture, placemats, etc. Luckily I called...to reserve a table for two as even though the restaurant was empty (3 tables in total: 2 tables of 4 people and us), the waitress refused a couple who had stopped by spontaneously, pretexting they were waiting for a group which never came (nothing in the layout suggested they were expecting more clients, i.e no table was setup). When in Geneva recently we made a return visit to the village in which we once lived and had another excellent meal at the Auberge de Grilly We had invited friends to join us. Service was good and staff polite and helpful. They have a...selection of menus from which to choose and they opt for local, seasonal produce. It was possible to choose something from one of the other menus as well if one did not want to stick rigidly to the items offered. I had heard complains that this was not generally the case, but we certainly were able to. The restaurant is not open every day and it is advisable to book, certainly at weekends.
really enjoyable culinary experience. this restaurant had already conquered our hearts with it new own in this summer. Too bad we needed so long to learn how much it had improved. really pleasant to eat outside in the garden, and up there in. the three best places to eat in the region. and now it can only take away during the Kovid restrictions, it is really nice to see how much they love to cook good food, and the carefree they take to explain how best to serve the various dressed homes. I hope the bisque legere de langoustine will be back on the menu, a winner.
I last went to this Auberge 10+ years ago but still remembered the food was just outstanding. Thankfully it hasn't changed our pre-set 3 course menu was wonderful. The inside has been updated somewhat but all-in-all this is a place you need to try....You need to book in advance otherwise you may be disappointed. Check out the 4 set menu choices on their web page. Ours was the cheapest at 29 euro. Service was pretty much French : Slow paced but stay patient. We will not wait another 10 years before we visit again.
from beginning to end, the quality of the food, both in taste and in presentation, was exceptional. as they would expect from a crash, the price was also very reasonable. selection of 4 menus, from 29 €, with some directed to more than one option....King of 4 desserts and also a large and diverse selection of wein through the glass, or bottle. I would recommend this place
Expensive for the quality of the food, very slow service. The wrong dish was served with no apology from the owner. The description of the dishes in the menu are not explicit enough,the dishes we got did not correspond to what we expected, the Veal...with “morrillles”, not sure where the veal was... only positive point, the apero spritz and wine was very good.
I find the food in this restaurant very tasty and nicely served. The ambiance was also nice. They have a chimenea in the middle of the restaurant and that give a nice winter touch. The owners and waiters are very kind. I definitely would recommend...this restaurant.
we went back to this restaurant for the first time and it was good value. pleasantly received and sitting we enjoyed a very well prepared/served dinner with good and inexpensive wine to accompany it. worth visiting, which we will return soon.
