We were looking for somewhere to stop near the Loire, with good food, on our trip back from skiing in Morzine. Although it was a bit of a hike it was worth the effort.Easy to find, plenty of parking, but rather unattractive. That is how I would sum it up before setting foot in it.Inside is plain. A good reception area, attractive restaurant, and very comfortable bedrooms. Ours was a good size with a decent view over the gardens. Nicely furnished and a decent bathroom with a good shower. Breakfast was good and not too expensive.Reception was very helpful and we took the opportunity to walk down to the Loire along the Cher the 1st evening, and then along the Loire and into Amboise for the Sund...
It was our first dinner on an epic drive from Paris to Lisbon. The restaurant had been suggested by our charming hostess.Every bit of the restaurant experience was excellent. The food, the wines, the dessert, the service and the atmosphere. And was the perfect beginning to our culinary journey!It was also the first time we had tried french whisky - which is an experience in itself - and we loved it.Pity that we could not go back to the restaurant as we left for Bordeaux the next day but we will hopefully have the chance to go back someday for more...
We stayed at Auberge de la Caillere as our first stop on our most recent France trip. We travel in large part for food and the rest of the trip was a disappointment after two excellent meals here. The staff was super helpful especially the hotel manager whose husband is the chef. On our next trip, we would make a detour for this place... the definition of a two-star restaurant so look forward to seeing at least one soon.
This was one of the best restaurants that we visited during our 2+ weeks in France. It was recommended by our hostess at the B&B that we stayed at in Pontlevoy. The food was fantastic and plentiful, the service was superb and the wine list was amazing. The only disappointing thing was that they were so popular and fully booked that we could not get a reservation to make a return trip. A must if you are in the area.

We stopped off here for the night on way to the west coastWe had dinner in the garden and the food was amazing, very romantic place.The rooms were clean and new in an ikea design.We found it a bit noisy and the beds uncomfortable.However all in all its a great place to stop off and have an amazing meal to start your French holiday.
Dinner was great, service the best.Many small dishes are included.One of the best in the area.The menu is fixed, so changes you can made are minor.The downside is that I wouldn't recommend to come with children for dinner.This is the mistake we did..
Refine ,professional service. Eating outside is the way to go;I didn't stay at the hotel part of the restaurant so I can't say anything. The restaurant is one of the better one in the region.

Very neat multiple choice fixed price menu. Make sure you make a dinner reservation, it is often booked up with a waiting.
