Twenty years ago we were staying on a campsite with our three children and. Ame here as a last night treat - we have never forgotten that meal, the food was amazing and the setting bliss. The chikdren played down by the small stream between courses and the night was bliss. Twenty years later we have managed to return, we booked into the auberge for five nights on a four week tour of France. Natalie the owner has had the auberge for teety five years, but has extended, improved, added hotel rooms, however the place is still as idyllic and the food is still out of this world. It is beautifully presented without being pretentious and with a portion size that is not too small as you somtimes find...
Glad we booked as the terrace was packed. The menu is classic and the a la carte mains were circa 30 Euro so not cheap. As a family of 5 we all had the 22euro set menu, hard to describe what we had but starter involved foie gras, lentils and salad, main was duck with a twist and dessert was ice cream and meringue. Our plates were completely cleaned, which was incredible given our teenager usually lives off pizza and even our 9 year old appreciated the sophisticated dishes. Would definitely recommend this restaurant as a treat.
Warm and attentive welcome after a long day of walking. A great price ratio for half board as well as for the room as the meal. An address I really recommend.
