this small restaurant is located near the canal du berry museum, few kilometers north of montlucon. the host speaks colloquial English and has a dry feeling of humor reminiscent of jack dee. the lunch menu offered various options, including vegetarian, and eating was served promptly and hot. I gave him five stars in the context of rural French restaurants. the restaurant also serves afternoon refreshments for the users of the nearby canal. the towpath can be reached by bus or train and is used by cyclists and hikers a lot, although the channel is temporarily dry due to a leak in the following lock.

after a short ride from the bike to the berry canal, a coffee break with a reered tatin pie. At first, we see it's done at home. excellent appreciation. kitchen offers dishes, so I'm probably going back.
