Picture two tired travellers after a 350 mile journey looking for dinner and finding a restaurant on the edge of town and not really caring too much what they ate only to discover the most amazing culinary delights, prepared to perfection with each course introduced by our Waitress and 'compere' for this evening's performance. We were blown away by the sights, smells and flavours of the courses presented to us. We chose the main menu for the evening and being the types to be inspired chose the 'surprise' items from each course. The food is simply heavenly. The wine list is extensive and very reasonably priced. The service was very professional and friendly. The owners love their work and this is reflected in this absolutely wonderful dining experience which changes their gourmet menu every six weeks and which is based on herbs of the season. A true culinary delight. I can not wait to return. We were able to take our time and did not feel rushed at all despite leaving the restaurant at 3pm which is quite late for a restaurant in France.
We happened to be staying nearby and saw reviews of this restaurant which seemed too good to be true- they weren't. We were really well looked after with superb food, excellent local wines (Bugey) and both the chef (Stefane Gerente) and waitress were delightful. We couldn't have had a more enjoyable evening.
