Auberge du Lac Genin

We spent the day at the beautiful lake and decided to stay for diner. There is one menu with limited choices. The quality of the meat is Very good but the plates are too simple. The meat is grilled on the wood fire and comes on a plate with nothing else on it. It is served with French fries and a salad on the side. But even the salad sauce is basic with no taste. The service is disorganized and long. The person to whom you pay is very unfriendly. Too expensive for what it is! Too bad the area is beautiful.

Beautiful setting, and warm, relaxed atmosphere. I was taken here by work colleagues whilst on a business trip. It is the sort of place you need to know about as there is little chance of finding it unless you know it is there. I had the sausage in wine to start, it was delicious. My main was lamb ribs with delicious French fries, dessert vodka and lemon sorbet “le Colonel”. The meat is cooked on an open fire, the meat was tender and tasty. I would visit again if in the area.

We stopped for lunch on a busy Sunday for lunch. Reservations are necessary. As most everything is cooked in the fireplace in the dining room; that is a bottleneck. Thus your waiter or waitress may not take your order as soon as you might like. But it is GOOD.

Had a lovely dinner here whilst on business trip. Although a little off the beaten track it was well worth the trip. The views were stunning, atmosphere relaxed and the food was good. Would make the trip for just the saucisse (sausage) best I have ever had.

Came here for dinner with friends. Great value for money place and so nice to see the meat being cooked on an open fire!
