Ate a late lunch here after a long time skiing on the pistes of la bresse (parking on the route des Crete avoids the hassle down in the main ski station). Skied down via 'la bouvreau' to the station just to get my day pass then stayed clear of the crowds there by staying high. As usual skiing 12-14:00 is quiet, but some places don't serve food after 14:00. The patron at this auberge was most welcoming and I had the fixed mountain menu. It was huge! A large bowl of pea soups, a massive tartiflette , salad and bread, followed by a copious fromage blanc with bilberry sauce ( all made at the farm) brilliant meal. This refuge is one of the most interesting places to stay in the Hohneck area. I had a simple basic room, evening dinner and breakfast for only 35 euros. Two years ago, so it's probably a little more expensive. But still worth the money.Good choice in local mountain foods. You should try at least Munster cheese, preferably with a good Picon beer.Recommended
We spent a night at the inn between 2 steps of hiking. A warm welcome , a hostess smiling , funny, caring for us. Comfortable dormitory , a la carte menu , reasonably priced, simple and rustic decor . Spend several days should be nice.
We went there for family lunch. Warm welcome, listening service including the youngest. The dishes served are copied, very good and local. A place to redo without hesitation. Thank you.

Amazing restaurant! Myself and my partner went here on the back of the great reviews we saw here on Reddit__Needless to say we weren't disappointed.
