The location is great: the restaurant is located in a the Clos-Lucé garden, which is convenient. The only other food options around are located in Amboise. Our group 14 guests arrived on time and the waitress was very polite. She was on time as well. No delay in our schedule. The waitress was wearing in Renaissance clothes and made interesting comments on the food she served. Food is clearly NOT the forte of this restaurant. Wine was a Chinon 2014 : it was way too young! The appetizer was some scallop dish, which is not typical of the Loire Valley. And I could barely taste the scallop, which is typically so full of flavors. The entrée was a wine rooster 'Coq au vin ' : I suspect it was froze...
Like most restaurants inside a tourist attraction, the prices are somewhat high for what you get, and the food isn't the best. The menu here is eclectic, but has a nice ice cream selection. Tables are at a premium when it is crowded. And the servers (and probably the cooks) are terribly overworked, so service is slow--but not because they're inattentive, just really busy. You're mostly paying for the convenience of eating on location. That said, if you don't mind a wait and the somewhat high prices, you could do worse unless you want to hike all the way back into the center of town to eat at an independent restaurant. Menus fixes pour une expérience de repas servis en costumes d'époque. Les plats proposés sont très bons. Service par ces dames déguisées donc, efficace et bienveillant. À faire en groupe, c'est une expérience, pas un repas gastronomique.

a dive into historic recipes: a great family experience in a beautiful context in the middle of leonardo’s park and great food! very recommended especially the mint flan and the strawberries soup!
