The setting of this traditional restaurant in lovely Cucugnan is a marvel, and the food no less. The £39 menu had fhe most wonderful range of both meat and fish dishes, all cooked to perfection from excellent raw materials....the fillet steak melted on the tongue, the monk fish with pea puree and black ink sauce great! There was even an amuse bouche to start; but unfortunately we were not able to procure one for the member of our party who had opted for the cheaper menu..despite offering to pay extra.
We eaten here quite a few times and never been disappointed, especially as the food and wine can be accompanied by magnificent views across the valley and up towards Queribus castle. The food is exactly fine dining, but its done really well and there are some really nice touches, so sort of regional cuisine done well with a few nice touches to make it a bit different and some good presentation. We always found the staff to be welcoming and professional. Good range of wines to go with the meals.
It is good to see that Chef-Patronne, Michele is back in charge in her excellent kitchen. Her food is as good, perhaps even better than ever. She specialises in the use of local, seasonal produce and, with care, converts good ingredients into some memorable, well presented dishes. The menu is not vast but entirely adequate and all the dishes represent good value and good quality. Highly recommended!
A great traditional french menu to choose from with the food being presented beautifully and it was delicious. The atmosphere is calm and the terrace view is great. The waitress and waiter (who speaks excellent english) were charming. Thank you for a wonderful lunch. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Cucugnan is a small town so off season restaurants seem to take turns being open. We enjoyed Coq au Vin with white beans and the local house wine in a jug was good too. Good choice in Cucugnan
Lovely restaurant with either a terrace to dine on or an extremely pleasant inside space. Food was beautifully presented, plentiful and very tasty. Also good value for money.

We had a truly wonderful meal overlooking the vineyard below and the beautiful view of the surrounding hills. Truly one of the great experiences of our trip.
