Popped in for a lunch on the way to the Loire, certainly a friendly place but the food was mediocre in my opinion. I think maybe if you have the lunch specials it would be good but I chose of the Carte and the accompaniments...to my dish of brochette of Crevettes were bizarre to say the least. I would expect maybe a salad of some veg but instead it came with pots of Béarnaise sauce, sweet potato, another potato soufflé dish and some mushrooms none of which went with or complimented the prawns. Hubby ordered a steak dish which had the same accompaniments and the meat was definitely not the cut advertised but a much cheaper cut. All in all very underwhelming, we paid, left and wouldn't go agai...
A disappointment after the good reviews. There was nothing the matter with the meal, but it was not exciting or noteworthy. The simple menu (very good value, admittedly, at €13.50) had only one meat choice andouilette. The next menu up is €22. The first...courses come completely swamped with salad which, while healthy, unbalances it. The salad was fine, but undressed and dull. The main courses (fish with fish mousse and magret de canard), which sounded very good on the page, were overcooked and hence dry. Puddings were fine, but uninspiring. There was nothing much specifically about which to complain, but also little over which to enthuse. One can do so much better, especially in France, and...
We had lunch at l'Auberge Normande en route to the UK. It is brilliantly positioned just off junction 18 (Alencon Nord) of the A28 between Le Mans Rouen. Exit at Junction 18 and follow the signs toward Alencon. It is on the right just...after the second roundabout. While fairly ordinary-looking from the outside, we found the welcome and service excellent, and the food also far better than you would expect for the very reasonable menu prices, ranging from €13.50 to €28. We had the €28 menu 5 courses! which included an indifferent starter (poor choice on our part), but excellent filet steaks with really nice sauce and vegetables, a splendid cheese plate, and very nice desserts.

Rooms a little spartan glad neither of us needed to sleep in the single bed as the mattress sank to the floor! However, the food was the saving grace for this little Auberge off the A28. we arrived just before 9pm just...made it for dinner where a full menu was available to us. We cose the 22 euro menu which offered 3 choices for each of 3 courses plus cheese. Beautifully freshly cooked hot food the carafe of house plonk wasn't bad either. For a stop-over this was absolutely fine. Breakfast basic but croissants bread freshly baked in the morning.

we love this inn a lot,c is always our point of restoration, when let's go to our children in the dark, the kindness of the personal, the meals are excellent and the little garden is very pleasant. I'll see you soon!

a little old but clean damage that I didn't have a nice view of my window, but don't want to go to eat it is! c is excellent to present with taste
