It was with great anticipation that I visited this establishment. Despite having resided in East Hartford for the past 14 years, the opportunity to experience a venue that predates the construction of my residence by a considerable margin was truly remarkable. Furthermore, its reputation proved to be well-founded, as the culinary offerings were of exceptional quality, and the staff exhibited exemplary friendliness and professionalism. It was particularly gratifying to witness a genuine family-owned enterprise that has successfully maintained its operations since the 1940s.
I like local places with history, good food, and great people and Augie Ray's is exactly that. The guy that took our order was super friendly and the hot dogs were really good. I recommend the chili dog. No lingering aftertaste. The grilled rolls are fantastic. I will definitely be back.
The hot dogs here are fantastic and come at great prices. The clam strips and onion rings are good, although they could use a bit more substance. It's one of those classic places that thankfully still exists. The service is genuinely friendly too. This place is a real gem!

Haven't eaten here in 15yrs. I was welcomed back to my all time favorite Chilli dog on buttered grilled bun with side of onion rings. Never changes, always the best around.
The food was excellent, but please take the time to repair your exit signs and ensure that the person responsible for their damage is banned.
Fantastic experience at this charming diner! The staff were wonderful, and the egg sandwich I had was delicious. Definitely recommended!
