Update: Augie’s Prime Cut is now Augie’s Prime Italian and we love the new menu! Our favorites so far are the garlic bread, the Spicy Rigatoni with vodka sauce, the garlic fries, and the Berkshire pork chop Italiano. They have some new wines too! I swear Augie’s just gets better and better every time we come. Augie’s overall is the best steakhouse out of them all in the area and there are quite a few. My family loves the seafood options. The oysters and lobster never disappoint. I love the steaks. I find that the cuts of meat are always cooked just how I like em. Medium rare to perfection. I have visited this restaurant multiple times and each time I am left in awe, which is probably why I keep forgetting to write a positive review. Well, here it is. I have gotten to know Val and Dave very well and I must say, they are a fantastic addition to the restaurant. Their excellent service and hard work will definitely keep you coming back for more. They go above and beyond to take care of everything, from getting you a drink to ensuring your order is perfect. Trust me, go to Augie’s and ask for Val or Dave – you'll see exactly what I mean.
I really wanted to like this place. Went for a hamburger dinner, 2 couples. I was debating between a 3 and 4 star rating. Because everything was perfect, including great friendly service BUT: all 4 hamburgers were barely look warm. We told them and they took them back, were friendly about it, but when they returned them, they were barely just a little bit warmer, but not hot. How difficult is that?, in a Steak House? I generously give them 4 stars because I want to go back, give them another chance for a hot burger.
If you are looking for a great meal in a beautiful setting and want to splurge definitely recommend Augie's Prime Italian in Mohegan Lake. The original steakhouse has been re branded to celebrate their 15th anniversary and it did not disappoint. From the beginning (Buffalo Mozzarella with Heirloom Tomatoes) to the end (Zeppoles), we were impressed! Homemade pasta, fresh vegetables, jumbo shrimp and an extensive, creative cocktail menu. I had an amazing dining experience at Augie's Prime Italian Restaurant. The entrees and appetizers were delicious, and the house-made pasta dishes were outstanding. The service was professional and friendly.
Great food, great staff, great experience. I went Friday night with a large (15) group of people. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long while. Highly recommend.
Service was great, drinks on point, and most importantly food was delicious! Definitely will be returning! Not pictured we had calamari to start, and apple crisp for dessert.
