Hotel Wistub is a small family run hotel in Sainte Marie-aux-Mines located in the massif of the Vosges Mountains. Very scenic and quite alpine in character. We stayed for the night and ate in the small comfortable restaurant along with several locals – a good sign. Very informal and friendly atmosphere and the staff most helpful.I ordered a full bodied local red (the name now escapes me) and was perfectly happy.I could not resist the escargot and was not disappointed. Lashings of heavenly garlic butter and crusty local bread. Just perfect. My wife’s onion tart was amazing! Certainly the best either of us have ever tasted. a small hotel restaurant super welcoming in a quiet place. we are very well received as soon as we arrive, the boss is so nice I have no opinion to give on the restaurant as I did not go there, if it is that it is a pretty little room but not very hot, on the contrary the rooms are impeccable and comfortable and sufficiently heated, well slept and here!
very warm welcome, very beautiful setting and beautiful room. restaurant with good dishes including a rich and tasty jambon that reflects very well the Alsatian cuisine and serves a white lady with a good and true hot chocolate that makes honor to connoisseurs
two-night stay with breakfast and evening meal. a very good reception, the impeccable room with regard to sanitary rules. breakfast and meals traditionally copied (I recommend the beef room) as at home.

Stayed in the hotel, and after a long drive had no energy to seek out alternative eating place. As it turned out it was a good decision, hearty regional food, sunny terrace, good service and good value.
Ideal location for a stopover before visiting Haut Koenigsbourg. The room is very decent although heating in the bathroom would have been appreciated. Copious evening meal plate as well as breakfast.
Great local food and friendly business owner. Choucroute and wine were good. We didn't plan to eat there initially but there are not many options in this village. It was a nice discovery.
This is a very nice place to eat. We where here for the quilt show. So it was crowded. But worth the wait. Good taste of regional food.
