The Most Frustrating Meal I've Had in Madison. My boyfriend and I went to Avenue Bar this afternoon around PM (Sunday, Oct. to catch the last quarter of the Packers game and enjoy some beer and appetizers. We have never been before, but have driven by plenty of times and decided to check it out We walked in and stood there until a bartender told us to just sit wherever. we tried the avenue club for dinner on Monday night. we have never been there and were initially thrilled by our experience we were greeted by a friendly host who welcomed us in the restaurant, gave us menus and told us about appetizers and cocktails throughout the day. we began to be excited when we looked at the drinks menu and the variety of the old fashions they were offered. the appetizer menu also looked fascinating with a relish tablet, onion dip, fried pickles and more. the atmosphere was modern, clean, airy and seems like a great place to hang up for drinks our waitress came. she was funny, perky and helpful. we ordered an old fashion derivative. we also ordered...more
Madcity Marty. Simply put, if you have enjoyed the Ave. over the last years as I have, you will agree, it has gone downhill to the point of I will not return. It used to be where I would call ahead talk to Fluff and have real chocolate milk there waiting for me... I went there times a week for years, dated several of the waitresses, brought dozens of dates there to and never had to worry if I would get a quality meal or not...King Crab pre-sliced, lobster tails with flavor, fresh cold salads, tasty dressings, Holiday meals to enjoy, Zack and family there all the time Recently, new NON-Family owners... we celebrated the 19th birthday of my daughter as brunch and the food was excellent. I had a gooey eggs benedict and others had variations of eiern and waffeln. the **** marys were great. my only complicity would be how shameful our waitress was. she was far behind us at every interaction and rarely made trips to our table. I understand that COVID-19 care about us, but they acted as if we were all testing positiw. we were not comfortable. that was very indecent. Maybe she's in the kitchen or in another office. we will return, but probably request another table server.

First time, great food.. minute wait on a Saturday night. Understandable. Got very lucky and got a seat at the bar for a very stiff and tasty Old Fashioned. Place was busy for a reason. My wife and I ordered cheese soup which was awesome. We both a ribeye and king crab legs. Steak was perfect. pound of crab legs were very tasty but for for a pound, they were WAY overpriced. That would be the only negative for the night. We will go back again, just skipping the crab.
the avenue club and the bubble up bar is the second restart of the avenue bar. I heard many loyalists were not satisfied with the changes, but according to my opinion, the version is an upgrade in decor, atmosphere and eat. they are all ornaments (I was on the auction for these ornaments). Now they have a darker, more modern looking room that I don't think is an evening club.
we had a great brunch! the service was a tad slow but pleasant. the food was delicious! the **** mary was excellent. we're coming back. try the shrimp and the grits and the peach cobbler french toast.
Amazing. I have to say that in the past year the quality has improved greatly. The steak Diane is hands down my favorite! Great service wonderful food can't wait to go back!

Can anyone one say SUPPER CLUB ! Typical WI supper Club. Good food, homey atmosphere, fish fry is pretty good. Makes me think of Crivitz. idk why.
