Let me start by saying that I haven't had Mexican food like this in a very long time. Avila's checked all the boxes. Good chips and salsa. Good queso. And a variety of dishes. Anything you might want, they have it on the menu. I had the Gorditas and they were fresh, crunchy, and delicious. I was surprised by how much food we were served. They definitely don't jip you on portions. Even the coca cola was good. Again, food and drink were amazing. Finally, the service was amazing. We were taken care of by two of the waitresses. Ok, this place is a hidden gem. I've been living in the area, passing it almost every day for years. I wish I had known of it sooner, but I know now! The food is fresh, hot, and amazing! The portions will satisfy the biggest appetite. The staff is very friendly and service is quick for a dine in spot. It's small, so if peak time, there may be a wait. But the wait is definitely worth it. The food is 10 out of 10! The coat is a little more than I expected, but the cost of everything is more than I expect these days. I initially thought I had arrived at the wrong location due to the old house surrounded by security bars. However, once I stepped inside, it felt like a journey to an authentic spot in Mexico City. I really appreciated the cozy atmosphere and the friendly service. The menu may be small, but that just means each dish has been perfected. I highly recommend the fajita platters and their cold beers! Overall, a perfect 10/10.
This is undoubtedly one of the best Mexican restaurants in Dallas, and likely in the entire country. The food is exceptional, and the service is outstanding! The atmosphere is delightful, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I highly recommend it. The fajitas are the best I've ever had! What a fantastic discovery!
Loved coming here for dinner! We waited for a couple mins to be seated as it was busy and chose to be seated outside instead, which worked out just fine. The staff is very kind and attentive. Food was delicious! Enchiladas de mole although the rice looked too tinted, it was very tasty!
Always friendly and the food is always good. Nice and clean space, love the soups, chips and salsa, refried beans, and their mixed veggies. I also love their tacos, fajitas, and enchiladas. This continues to be one of my faves.

This is a fantastic Mexican restaurant. Tons of vegetarian choices plus a bar for drinks. The Sal's is top notch.
