When you order drinks, you receive a wristband, and you're limited to ordering two drinks at a time. So, if you're ordering for the whole table, it's helpful to bring someone along. Expect to wait in line at Axelrad, whether it’s for drinks or the restroom. Note that they don’t serve food directly; you'll have to order from the food truck or Luigi’s next door. I’ve always opted for Luigi’s, and their pizza is delicious. Made fresh to order, you can either enjoy it at their picnic tables under the awning or have it served on a plate at Axelrad, but they don’t provide takeout boxes. I had a great time at Axelrad Beer Garden with my friends. The place is cozy and relaxing, with a lot of hammocks to lounge in. They have a wide selection of beers, wines, and cocktails, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The pizza from Luigi's Pizzeria next door is delicious and goes well with the drinks. They also have live music, games, and events almost every night. I especially enjoyed the Noche de Cumbia with Son Rompe Pera, a band from Mexico that plays cumbia with marimbas. It was a fun and lively night. I highly recommend Axelrad Beer Garden for anyone looking for a chill and enjoyable spot in Houston.
I had a fantastic evening at this restaurant! I went out with some friends and decided to stay upstairs since it was a bit quieter. They were screening "The Big Lebowski" tonight, which was great to see everyone just enjoying themselves. They offer a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks that change every couple of weeks, I believe. If you’re looking for a fun late-night hangout with friends, this is a great spot! Just a heads up—there are occasionally days with a cover charge!
It's no surprise that this place has such a high rating. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the drinks are fairly priced. The beer of the day is inexpensive and comes with some great options. Food trucks frequently visit, and if you're lucky enough to catch them in time, Luigi’s Pizzeria is right next door! One food truck mentioned in this review is Muishii. Went to Axelrad for a Cowboy Bebop performance and the ambience was really great. Was a bit crowded, that’s why I gave them 4 stars. Also the service to buy drinks is really slow.Although, Tacos Orlando was GREAT, I loved those tacos. A bit expensive but I think for the vibes there was worth.Keep in mind that you might park your car in the street and in the night feels kinda insecure.I would go there again to see other shows : .
Ooh! This place rules. I've been to hundreds of beer gardens and breweries, so it takes a lot to surprise me at this point, but this place had an excellent vibe. Cool movie showing screen, great rotating food carts/trucks, great for dogs, and of course great selection of beer and cocktails too. I liked the beet taps, very cute. Must visit when in Houston.
We visited Axelrad for a beer and were pleasantly surprised by its size; it's much bigger than we anticipated. The outdoor area is expansive, complete with food trucks in the back. We also discovered that the second-floor patio offers a great view of the area, and to our surprise, there was a comedy show happening in one of the upstairs rooms.
Axelrad may not have the best beer selections (I’m in a sour beer phase and they had limited options), but they certainly have some of the most chill vibes. Cool little beer garden on the edge of midtown with a mostly outdoor setup and laid back vibe.One of the better spots in the area but needs to be finished in a few parts of the building and air conditioned upstairs.
