This restaurant is fantastic and comes highly recommended. It offers a diverse range of Japanese dishes, making it easy for everyone to find something they love. Whether you're craving something adventurous like grilled octopus or squid, or looking for comfort food like a teriyaki dinner, Azuma never fails to impress. It's a wonderful spot for small plates and drinks, and their sake selection is outstanding. I strongly recommend sampling a variety of small plates that pique your interest. They also have great specials on appetizers and beer.
Azuma is consistently fantastic. The food is excellent, and the service is very good. The outdoor dining area in the back is a great option for COVID safety, and they provide heaters to keep you warm. My favorite dish is the teriyaki beef and chicken combo, which isn't listed on the menu, but they'll happily prepare it for you. The beef is more like steak and is of high quality, so I always order it medium rare. Pair it with some Asahi beer, and you're all set. Give it a try; you won't be disappointed!
The servers were extremely friendly, and the menu prices were quite reasonable. There was a wide selection of meals available, including both small and larger plates to suit sharing preferences. The food was served quickly and tasted very fresh. I ordered the okonomiyaki, salmon skin salad, and sautéed beef—all of which were excellent and delicious.
What a wonderful little Japanese restaurant! The beef teriyaki was cooked perfectly to medium rare, and the house sake was reasonably priced. The gyoza was tasty, and the portion sizes were generous. If I lived close by, I would definitely make this place a regular spot!

There's parking available at the back of the restaurant. The service is both friendly and prompt, and we were seated right away. The food is delicious and authentic, with generous portion sizes.
Azuma is worth rush hour on the 405 on a Friday night. Excellent. My favorite menu item is their yaki onigiri! In particular the bonito and plum ones! They are life changing.
The place was filled with happy eaters as usual. The cooks smiling and taking care of business in which they do always to make your dish they way you like it!
This Japanese restaurant is a nostalgic favorite of mine that I visit every time I return to Gardena. The food is always consistently delicious.
