My wife and I dined at Azure for an intimate dining experience following our small beachfront wedding ceremony. The ambiance at the restaurant was incredible as was the food. We chose this restaurant because my wife is Vegan and it is very rare to find an elevated dining experience that offers a four-course menu with options actually designed for vegans rather than dishes that have to have components removed that compromise the integrity of the dish. We had planned this dinner as a special fine dining experience, but it ended up being a bit disappointing. We were aware that the menu was limited, which wasn't a problem for us. There was a gluten-free option featuring locally sourced fish, and the dessert option was shaved ice. However, the ambiance left much to be desired. It was a Friday night, and the beach was bustling with fireworks nearby, yet the restaurant itself was quite empty for our 8:15 reservation. It wasn't worth the money or the hype. My wife liked her vegetarian tofu entree, but the beet salad was just average. My beef entree had good short ribs, but the strip loin was below average. The desserts were okay, but nothing special. We spent over $300 for two people, excluding drinks (we don’t drink alcohol), and it definitely wasn't worth it. Every meal we've had in Waikiki over the past six days has been significantly better. It's disappointing to say, but that's the reality.

The service and atmosphere were excellent, but the food was underwhelming. I felt full but unsatisfied after my meal. The fish was somewhat dry, and the flavors just didn't come together. Even with the $130 per person price tag, I wouldn't choose to dine there again, even if it were cheaper. Again, the service was fantastic and we had a great time, but the food simply didn't meet my expectations.
We had another unforgettable dinner during our honeymoon. The chef's prix fixe menu was superb, with each course beautifully presented and the flavors absolutely divine. Dining al fresco on the beach was simply breathtaking.
We opted for the chef's menu and chose every dish from the two available options. It was absolutely sensational, and our server, Scott, was fantastic! We will definitely return!
