Tucked away down a sketchy alley in Detroit, finding the unmarked door marked Bad Luck Bar feels like a quest in itself. Our first attempt was met with a locked door (and a sign warning of limited capacity), but a quick call had the friendly staff greeting us at the back entrance within minutes. The venue itself is tiny, with a narrow hallway leading to a warm and inviting bar area. A massive wall of spirits dominates the space, and a few plush lounge areas offer additional seating. My friend and I went to Bad Luck Bar last night. It was a super cool speakeasy and the vibes were great! Our server was very helpful with suggestions. We both ended up getting The Fifth Sun which came with a side of poprocks. The presentation of the drinks was great, server and host were great. Definitely a fun little spot to grab a drink with a friend or go on a date
We had such a great experience here! I’m not much of a drinker but arrived as a guest to a party and I gotta say, even I thoroughly enjoyed my drink and time here. Hannah was a total rockstar. She explained the drinks so well, was very personable, patient and kind. Everything you could want when experiencing a place for the first time. We’ll definitely be back.
This bougy hole in a wall is slinging some of the best cocktails in town! The bartender really took care of us, asking about flavor profiles we enjoyed and explaining the inspiration for each beverage on the menu. Great spot for a date night or hanging with a small group of friends. Went with a few friends and had a great time. Very friendly and attentive service. Cocktails were a bit pricey but were solid. We tried 3 and they were on the sweeter side. Would still come back for the vibes and drinks!
Very cool little place. They have some very creative and tasty drinks. The selection of spirits is pretty impressive. It is definitely something worth experiencing!
The drinks begin at $22, which is on the expensive side, but the atmosphere, presentation of the drinks, and attention to detail make it worthwhile.
