We used the blue room for our family Christmas get together. The room was a bit small for all 16 adults, along with a 5-year-old and a baby, to sit at the table. The decor could use some updating as it is starting to look tired. The portions of food and drinks were stingy, with my fish coming out first and getting cold by the time everyone else's meals arrived. Some items were missing from the plates, mainly potatoes in my case. Instead of asking how many potatoes were needed, a small dish was brought out which was not enough, and by the time a second dish arrived, my meal was cold. I had to choose between eating warm vegetables and cold fish or cold fish with hot potatoes. I did not want th...
I have stayed at this restaurant before, once in a suite in the main building. I found the room to be too big and too cold. However, during my latest stay, I opted for one of the standard rooms in the building at the back, and I found them to be perfect. Even though the walls were thin (and there was some late-night activity going on at 1:30am), the rooms were comfortable and provided a good space for working on a laptop. Breakfast was exceptional and one of the best I have had at a hotel. I would definitely come back to this hotel and choose to stay in these rooms again.
We held my late father's funeral reception at Bagden Hall in December 2023. It was extremely disappointing to say the least. We paid £18.95 per head for a buffet. This was planned for 25 people but the food was barely sufficient for the 14 attendees. The bread was stale and the variety was poor and certainly did not reflect the price paid. Response from management was wholly defensive and did not accept our complaint. Go to the local chip shop instead or perhaps Burger King. Dreadful.

The hotel is lovely, the staff is exceptional, the gardens are beautiful, and the food is delicious.
