Have been coming here to this place for years because it's predictable. It should be, since it's family-run & they've been grilling at this window for decades. A lot of the clientele are also long-timers. Perfectly grilled plain fish (preceded by grilled scampi or scallops for special occasions), bowl of potato/cabbage salad, no frills with the food, service or surroundings.
The cabbage rolls with mash are tasty & really good in winter, the mixed grill is a good buy, the seafood platters will impress mussel & prawn lovers, the Eastern European style pancakes are only for massive eaters. But's it's really about the grilled meat & seafood, I wouldn't bother ordering anything...

Wahrscheinlich war es das schlimmste Esserlebnis in Sydney. Es scheint sehr schmutzig zu sein, insbesondere das unprofessionelles Blick und das Verhalten von alten Kerl, der den Grill macht. Seine Nägel sind voller schwarzer Durcheinander, was widerlich ist. Sie berechnen 35 US-Dollar für 4 Stück Lammkoteletts und Koteletts sind ein hochwertiger Lebensmittelgeschäft Lammkoteletts. Der Salat ist auch das gleiche, es ist wie ein Salatpaket aus einem Supermarkt. Insgesamt ist es ein schmutziges, unprofessionelles und sehr schlechtes Restaurant.
Very nice family run restaurant. We had lunch here on a Saturday and were the only patrons in the restaurant for ages. Really nice food and very filling. The only downside is parking in the area - it is the pits. Might have been better of an evening as I assume there would have been more diners.

With a vibrant and fun atmosphere, Balkan Seafood restaurant was a great experience! With a variety of seafood to try and tantalising Croatian flavours, The Balkan won’t disappoint! I definitely recommend their platters and their take on potato salad which is so good!

Amazing fresh seafood served straight off the grill with the beautiful aroma wafting through the restaurant. Service was friendly and efficient. Very generous portions, you certainly won't be leaving hungry!
