I've only been here for cake/coffee and drinks, but I really enjoyed it and will be back. Drinks are reasonably priced, there is live music on weekends, there are lovely courtyards in the front AND back and a fire inside. The staff are very attentive without being annoying, and very friendly. My cake was actually a caramel tart, was HUGE and great value at less than $10 - it also came with ice cream and it was nice. The food is fine but the vibe here is really nice and I will update this after I've tried a proper meal, as it made me want to return.
Their "phoritto" is a spit in the face of Vietnamese culture and barely resembles the Vietnamese dish pho. Balmoral hotel has created a Frankenstein meal with Vietnamese corriander, Chinese noodles and Singaporean chicken rice soup? The dish is bland and sloppily falls apart as you eat it. Also be ready for a surprise handful of chopped chili in one of the corners. Stay away from Balmoral Hotel's Asian foods.
Busy Monday night. Nice atmosphere, style and setting. Enough space for large family groups or celebrations. Bar setting, indoor dining and alfresco dining and bar table setup.New service staff tonight. They forgot an order and mixed up 2 but not anything big went wrong. Some of us enjoyed our food some was only ok. We recommend the ribs definitely fantastic.They separate bill too which is a huge plus.
The Balmoral fares well in terms of posh pub nosh and standard staples. They do some interesting theme nights like American soul food and cheap tacos, but accommodate plainer tastes too. First time visiting this place, and it was great! Really nice layout, good feel about it , friendly staff and delicious food. We both had the Bean Burrito and I could of eaten another ten it was so delicious, but very generous portion sizes. We also happened to go on Quiz night which we got involved in and the MC was great.
We had dinner there for my husbands birthday and the food was delicious. He had the steak and I had the bubble and squeak. It tasted so fresh and had lots of flavour. Special mention to Kauri the man serving us, his customer service was the best! So friendly but not in your face, thanks for making our experience fab!
Service is always good and so is the food. I have noticed over the last few years the food pricing has increased a fair bit however so has everything else. Not sure if such high food prices match the food, after all it is just a pub but the atmosphere is always great and a great spot for a casual drink.
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The Salmon was cooked to perfection. The watermelon salad was a great companion. We finished off with the caramel nut tart with berries compote, gorgeous. Service was attentive. Will recommend. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
What can you expect from a pub? You get what you pay for. It's average in every way. So I'll give a average review. There are over 200 restaurants in vic park. Don't choose a pub, go somewhere nice for the same price
