slightly disappointed to say the least!! I went there to celebrate my wife´s birthday. We usually order the menu del dia, as it usually is value for money. Anyway off to a bad start, after my wife booked a table on the phone yesterday, the waiter couldnt find the booking! Anyway he found a table due to it not being very busy. Eventually a waitress arrived and gave us a menu, I couldnt believe there was only 2 choices per course! I didnt like neither, but was forced to choose something. The second course came and saved the day, a big plate of Bocartes. But i was only offered 1 glass of wine!! no offer of a second glass!!! The bread wasnt very fresh!!
I can’t really understand why this restaurant has not got better reviews as we used it a few times and each time we really enjoyed it. The salads are massive and really good with plenty of variety, I also tried the mushroom prawn risotto which I thought was excellent. The views are great overlooking the beach and they have a limited number of sun umbrellas to hire for 6€ at the hire desk just past the restaurant. They don’t seem to hire beach chairs in the area so we bought a couple from the local supermarket and left them for others to use at the end of our stay, they were 15€ each.
We thoroughly enjoyed our beachside lunch here. Wonderful view, prompt though brusque service and an expansive menu. The anchovies with peppers appetizer was incredibly good, as was the tuna tartare and shrimp scampi. The main entrées of hake and cod we’re not as good but acceptable. Drinks were good. Mostly it’s is the atmosphere that was beautiful and that makes it worth the visit.
Today we have eaten the three and phenomenal. my husband and I have eaten a bass and my son a fetuccini with shrimp and very good clams too. And some very good anchovies with peppers and oil were tremendous.
