I go to Terrason often and I always make time to visit Bananas. It is in a great spot right next to the river. Cedric and Maude who run the place are always very welcoming, the food is always good and my sister (Who lives in Terrasson) considers that they make the best Pina Colada cocktail she has ever had!The menu is quite small as it is only a small cafe, Mainly salads, Omlettes and Quiches, but I have never had a meal that I haven't liked. I was surprised to hear that people had bad experiences there. They do try and keep the tables for diner only during the busy lunch period, but many places in France do the same
As we had to wait to go into the garden, we decided to have a drink at this cute looking cafe with tables along the river. When we sat down and ordered our drinks, we were told to move as we were not eating (not allowed to sit directly next to the river if you are not eating eventhough there was nobody else, ALL tables were empty). So we moved, then the waiter was messing about with the drinks order and said pour emporter? (to take away)?. So we just cancelled the order and went to the bakery down the road.
The café has tables at the riverside that are perfect for relaxing and watching the river, road and people pass by. The river is tranquil and "people watching" is always good fun. The waiter skilfully dodges the traffic and serves at high velocity!Omelettes and Bergerac rosé wine were perfect. Simple, straightforward and enjoyable.
