We booked our reservation 2 weeks in advance for my husbands birthday. We arrived 15 mins early, they were not ready. When they finally found a space it was not big enough for our group of 14. Normally, I enjoy writing good reviews, but this time not so much. We began dining at Bangers Lace just after they opened, a few years ago. We've been back many times, including a New Year's Eve celebration. At first we loved to go here. This last time it was not the same. We wonder if there are new owners(? . The food was sub-par. *Cheese curds were over-seasoned. Great meal over the Xmas holiday week with our kids visiting from out of town. Restaurant was quiet with all the NU students gone. So we had great service, great food and great drinks! Really enjoyed the upscale take on pub food. Soft pretzel with cheese and mayo and cheese curds were delicious apps. I loved my pulled pork sandwich. Other raved about their burgers. Will be back soon!
The service was terrible and our food was cold when it finally came out. The staff stood around and talked the entire time, ignoring us. This place was dead for a Saturday night, I’m guessing word has gotten around about the bad service. It’s a shame bc the food was good (even tho cold) and the ambiance is nice.

Had to return all three entrees. One was cold. The other two did not taste good. The main server was very unfriendly. Like she didn’t want to wait on us, even before we complained about the food. The manager was nice apologetic and comp’d the bill. It was my husband’s birthday and was Very disappointed.
We had a fantastic meal! Both the fish and chips and the pulled pork sandwich were outstanding. The service was quite good, and we really enjoyed the modern cabin and wood ambiance. We will definitely be back to try more items from their menu!
Food and service great as always. Love the cheese curds and Texas garlic sausage. The gnocchi is wonderful. Warm cozy atmosphere. We will be back. The new peppermint cocktail was fun for the holiday season!
I had the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant in the Chicago area. We felt completely forgotten. Eventually, our bill arrived, but I find it hard to imagine returning there again.

If you can score hip from 1-10 our server was a 1. I felt like Kevin Malone from the Office was our server... but in a bad way. Slow, annoying and zero fun is all I can say.
