I would say the service we received here was five stars. We had other places we wanted to try so we only wanted one banh xeo to try and the person ringing us up, offered to cut it in half for us, and they even put it in separate containers. We didn't even ask her to do this and it was very kind of her to do so. They even gave us separate fish sauce and chilis for each box. The food I would say is about a 2 1/2 stars. The bamh xeo was too tough. It didn't have the crunchy but soft texture I am used to. The fish sauce was too salty for my taste, I am used to a more garlicky and sweeter sauce for banh xeo. First time here in a long while. I've been here every so often when I've been to Rodeo 39, and decided that I wanted Banh Xeo this go around because I haven't had it in quite a bit. I was oddly craving it. The location is still in the same far back right corner when you enter, with the BXB prominently displayed across a black-and-white background of patterns. However, it didn't appear how it used to appear. The cash register felt a bit more cluttered than it once did, and they oddly had a QR code for us to order online despite a cash register being there.Nonetheless, I came for the banh xeo. Went here with my family because of a recommendation from my nephew. Only one person in line ahead of me. I ordered 4 banh Xeo, and was told about 15 minute wait. Totally cool. My nephew and I waited and watched the cook do his thing. The cashier called out an order that was ready, only 3 orders ahead of us. 20 minutes later, we see our order done, but waiting to be packaged up. Every time a new customer comes, she stops packaging my order to take their order (4 times). 15 minutes later, the cook actually gives me my order and I ask if it is still warm. I knew something was off when I made eye contact with the person that was supposed to take my order twice while she was in the back and she didn 't say anything like I 'll be right there or please order online . It took maybe 2-3mins until she finally took my order, barely saying anything other than it 'll be 10-15mins . I come back in 12mins but I end up waiting there for at least 20 until they bring something out that wasn 't even my full order. 3 stars only due to the VERY long wait (40+ minutes) it wasn't even busy! Customer service was EH staff walked up and took our order, no greeting, thank you, nothing, simply took our order and left. Step it up BXB! The banh xeo was definitely spot on, very light and crispy and packed with flavors! Could definitely used more pork belly and shrimp for the price though! Banh Xeo Boys is located inside Rodeo 39. They specialize in Banh Xeo which are savory Vietnamese crepes. Food Opted to try the Swimming Pig Banh Xeo and Pandan Horchata. The swimming pig is a Banh Xeo that features pork belly and shrimp. The Banh Xeo is served with fresh lettuce, mix of herbs, bean sprouts, pickled carrots daikon, and fish sauce. It'll take you to flavor town! Overall It's great to support and try another banh xeo business in OC. Banh Xeo Boys is probably a one and done for me. The overall taste, presentation and texture of the crepe itself didn't meet my personal expectations. It felt a bit lacking compared to some of the banh xeo spots in Little Saigon.
Service would be 3 stars while the banh xeo was 5! We order a pretty big order. 4 banh xeo's and an order or fries. We were told we'd be getting our order in 20 minutes. But instead we got it in about 1 hour. They did add extra eggrolls due to the wait. But the egg rolls were not that great. But the banh xeo however, mmmmm very yummy! And VERY happy with it. Just wish the wait wasn't too long because I ended up getting snacks while waiting because I was soooo hungry. So when I got my order I didn't get to finish it. To be frank, the bánh xèo is extremely horrible. The chicken looked old and has very dry. Usually bánh xèo would have bean sprout, coconut milk, and onions inside it. However, they did not have it when I ordered it. The bánh xèo looked extremely burnt. The shrimp and chicken bánh xèo was bad. I never was a bánh xèo like this in my whole life. I’ll never come back to this place ever again.
