We visited Gavarnie for one night at the end of the trekking season so many places were closed down. On the main street (virtually the only street) there was this place and one opposite which had a TV blaring out, so we opted for the...former. The service was friendly and efficient. I had Steak hache a cheval and my partner had tartiflette. Neither were outstanding but they were both tasty and filling and just what we needed after ten hours' hiking. Les Glaciers also runs the village taxi service so we called in next day to book a taxi as the buses were not running. In September, Gavarnie is a little quiet.
We stopped here for one evening during a driving holiday in the Pyrenees. Gavarnie itself is breath takingly beautiful and well worth a visit. We had a couple of drinks until he evening sun, service was friendly (even with the language barrier) and attentive. The...whole town seems to be more of a day trip destinations so some Restraunt's weren't open and those that were, incredibly quiet. We decided to order food as a few other tables became occupied and the food looked fine if a little basic. The duck cassoulet was absolutely delicious, very flavoursome and filling.
We stopped here after a walk and waiting for our transportation back to our hotel elsewhere. It’d been busy as we passed by earlier by this time of day the tourist buses had left. They seem to do a quite decent range of food but...we only had a drink. We were eating later on so a nice cold pint of Leffe beer did the trick for me after a long hot day walking and an amazing view of the Cirque from the patio table.
The best asset of this bar/brasserie is its environment which is also the best asset of any restaurant in Garvarnie. However, it is the meeting point of almost all buses coming to town and well located before a hike to the cirque. I had some...desserts which were fine. They were not special but were ok.

We ate here times, one dinner and one lunch. The food was generally tasty (our only complaint would be that the entrecote was a bit hard, altough cooked medium). Good value for money, especially the daily lunch. The waiter was Croatian and friendly, not...the typical French waiter
The overall experience at this restaurant was not horrible but it is not one that I would repeat. The service seems to be based on the concept that they will never see you again. The food is okay, but nothing special and not what I...would call good value
I can be brief about this place. Service takes forever (when we were here the place was not very busy), but the time we had to wait for the check was absurd. for recycled old bread with not so good quality meat cuts was...not worth the money.
My friends and I stopped here after coming back from the waterfall. It's conveniently placed. The dishes were good and the staff was friendly. It's a little cramped inside, but not too bad. Recommended.

Rating the view. Everything else is accessory. I was overwhelmed by the view and enjoyed every moment due to it. A chair, a glass of red wine and that view. No comments.
Stopped here a few times before the walk to the Circque very nice people and great service with generous but simple food
