Another overnight stop in Irun, simply wouldn't be complete without visiting Bar Marino. This is the first time since Covid-19 changed everything and we weren't sure how things would be. They have put a couple of tables outside and a shelf attached under each window, so a little outside space. We were lucky and managed to get a table for 2 inside by the bar (no more standing at the bar). We were told they needed the table asap, but we weren't rushed and I completely understand and agree this needs to happen, as it would be unfair on others if people just lingered there all night preventing others from eating. On our trip round Spain, we stopped in here for lunch and had the most fantastic octopus we have ever tasted. The family Marino who own this restaurante were kind, generous and could not do enough for us. We ate several dishes and enjoyed them all immensely and will be stopping off for lunch here for sure, if we pass this way again.
El mejor pulpo que hay!! La txuleta espectacular y a un precio muy razonable,lo más barato de la zona seguramente.Qué decir de las croquetas de jamón y de bacalao!!! BRU-TA-LES !!!! Espero que nunca cambien la receta por que son increíbles. Buena atención y rapidez, todo muy bien en general, nunca falla.
Me encanta ir al Mariño y comer sus riquísimas cazuelitas de pulpo, los platos de lacón... Y todo acompañado con una buena jarrita de vino. El restaurante no es bonito, es un pequeño bar-restaurante de barrio, muy campechano , pero que siempre está lleno. ¡Por algo será!

Yo sólo porve el pulpo y lacón y una garra de Rivero y todo impresionante pero tiene de todo y todo muy rico, no me voy a decir todos pero, chorizo criollo, carrilleras, chanpiñones, pulpo, lacón, cocido gallego ETC
Still the best bar/restaurant in the area. The pulpo was as good as ever, along with the local wine. Service just as friendly as always. Hopefully we will be back sooner than later.
