My husband and I did the Tiede by night trip and were so pleased as it was an amazing night. We got picked up from outside our hotel and on the journey up to the mountain the tour guide Danny was very interesting explaining a lot about the mountain and the history of the island. The drive through the national park was beautiful with lots of stops along the way for photo opportunities. We had a 3 course meal and drinks all included and the food was delicious. We then went to see the sunset with a glass of cava which was beautiful bring a jumper or blanket as it is very cold and windy at the top!! They do provide a blanket but we were still cold. We decided to eat in the dining room behind the bar to keep out of the sun in January! . The dining room had a great noisy atmosphere and seemed to be full of Spanish speaking groups. We shared a tuna salad and then I chose goat stew which was flavoured kind of North African style with cloves peppercorns and maybe a touch of chilli. Absolutely lovely. Unfortunately I chose chips to go with it and Canarian potatoes would have been a better choice- we have found chips in Tenerife not to be that good. Topical Local Canarian food. These are the types of restaurants that can only be found by leaving the hazle of the holiday resort and adventure into small Villages. We had dishes cooked the traditional way by members of the same family. We received a welcoming greeting from the proprietor and made us feel at home. Feel lucky to have try it.
After our hike from Masca to Santiago del Teide, my son (14) and I ate lunch at this restaurant located right on the main road. A perfect place to recharge, taste local food and enjoy a beer. The portions are large and the price/quality ratio is very good. Recommended.
