We ordered takeout from Basil while staying in Isle of Palms. The food was tasty, although not as spicy as I prefer my Thai food to be (but my in-laws enjoyed the level of spice, which was what mattered most). As they say, happy in-laws make for a happy vacation! If you like your food spicy, make sure to request it. We tried the spring rolls, vegetable green curry (for the vegan), drunken noodles (pad kee mow), pad prik, and vegetable delight (also for the vegan). Everything was delicious. The restaurant was bustling when I picked up the food and had a nice ambiance. I will definitely dine in here next time I'm in IOP (and request everything to be very spicy).
Really enjoyed our meal here. Atmosphere, food and service were all excellent. Had a table by the window overlooking a small pond. They appeared to have outdoor seating in warmer weather. Menu was clearly labeled with gluten free options which included several appetizers and decent number of entrees. They did a great job accommodating my celiac disease. My husband and I tried the pad thai that came with chicken and shrimp and massaman beef curry. Both were excellent!
Food is ok , chicken soup coconut is good but fried fish in not, fish not fresh , tast like about to spoil and vocanol shrimp is too sweet., on menu is call gian shrimp haha but reality it small like pinky finger hâhha Stuff isí freindly , good take care. Atmosphere and environment around look so good, has the bond in the back you can see, have table outside tou can sit and onjoy food for summer, litttle park for you take a picture any even!
Update: We have been back a couple times and enjoyed every visit. This is easily our new go to for Asian cuisine. Tonight we had sweet and sour with tofu. Unfortunately didn't get a photo of the appetizer but they were great as well. Came for restaurant week and was very impressed! Interesting cocktails and the food was amazing. This restaurant is consistently amazing. The appetizers, soups, and entrees are all perfectly delicious. They use fresh ingredients and offer a variety of healthy options. The staff provides excellent service, and they even have a coat rack near the host stand. It's the little touches like this that make it one of the best restaurants in Charleston for dinner.
Food was good but fish dish bland needed a zip to it otherwise all appt. and salad delish Servers excellent made the experience of first time there great
Coconut soup is a must, chicken satay is also a top appetizer. Duck is awesome and basil barramundi fish is awesome
