An interesting evening. My wife and I were there for our 60th birthdays. The clientele was primarily English speaking. The service was staunch. The menu was more interesting than good. With a modest bottle of wine, we spent over $400 for an interesting menu. Personally, I would have rather gone into town for a good meal at 1/4 the price. The menu is fixed but there are 2 menus to choose from. My wife and I tried to sit next to each other, but they would not serve us next to each other only across. The sun was blaring in my wife's eyes. We asked the server, or order takers, to lower the shades, and he said they were broken. They clearly were not. The best meal we had in our two weeks in France. Superb, inventive dishes that definitely merited the Michelin star--but still in the French tradition and using the freshest local ingredients. Not a single miss among the generous amuse bouche and main dishes; pray that they are offering the Camargue oysters and/or the pigeon during your visit. We had hoped to sit outside on the stunning terrace with views, but the mistral winds of Provence made that impossible. No matter: the interior space is light-filled and beautiful. I went there late July with my wife an young daughter. The restaurant is located within the premises of the hotel which is superb and the atmosphere can not be faulted. The service was good but somewhat a bit mechanical which is what sometimes you find in those starred restaurants; the sommelier (la sommeliere in fact) was excellent however. The big let down is the food where the complexities and various subtleties in your plate and aside (endless amuse bouches) miss the point of what should be a unique experience and flavorsome food; it ends up feeling very unremarkable. We went on a Sunday evening in August for a special celebration. It was our third visit, so our expectations were high, maybe too! We were extremely disappointed by the lousy service. This is a restaurant with an abundance of personnel, but way too inefficient. After we had finished our apéro (we really took our time) we were treated with some amuses bouches. We waited another half hour before we got our menus and we had to ask 3 times for the wine list. The food was superb! But the wait too long. We arrived at 20h15 and were served our starters at 22h00. In fact, the large lubricant menu served in a pretty courtyard has marvelled us. perfect cooking, exquisite flavours, a friendly service, and a charming chef. In short, it won't take much time before the stars, already in our eyes and taste buds, replace this michelin plate. Maybe a little bemool for the assortment mets-vins. choosing between a assortment to € and per person is a little damage and perhaps a little overvalued. but we will gladly return to our pleasure in this delightful setting.
