During our lunch, our meal included complimentary rice. We ordered a vegetarian dish called Navaratna Korma, and it was so good that we felt like licking the plate clean! We also tried the Garlic Cilantro Naan, which was even better than the regular Naan. The portion sizes were generous enough to share between my husband and me, all for just $22. You definitely can’t find that in the States! The restroom was exceptionally clean and inviting as well. While we typically go for Butter Chicken, we wanted to try something new. What a gem, hidden inside a Days Inn! Whether you love Indian food or are new to the scene, Bayleaf is a must try. Huge selection of great dishes, easy to find the spice level that works for you. Good portion sizes. Friendly, attentive service. With 11 people in our party (ages 10 to 66) most of whom had little experience with Indian food, there was not a single meh complaint. Here 's what I did hear throughout the meal: OH, wow. This is SOOOO GOOD. You have to try mine. Best.Meal.Ever! The (insert meat here) is so tender. I 'm so glad that I tried this. I 'm sad that I won 't be able to eat here again. (We live in Kansas) Extra points: All this occurred at 830pm on a Tuesday night.
Stayed the night in Cranbrook on our way back to the states. The family was taking a dip in the pool due to the hot weather when we were hit by the best aroma in the air. The aroma kept coming and we had to find out the source. That source was Bayleaf Indian Restaurant and there we went for dinner. Can I say it was the best Indian food we have ever eaten? Those are really big words coming from a family who lives in Southern California. You would be missing out if you don't eat here while in Cranbrook. I wish I lived closer so I can come back to enjoy the food at Bayleaf. I highly recommend the Bayleaf special curry, lamb Rogan Josh, and the roti.
During our road trip, we decided to stop here, and it turned out to be an incredible experience! We ordered garlic naan, shrimp kahdri, chicken tandoori, and palak paneer. Each dish had just the right amount of heat, and the flavors were fantastic. The service was outstanding too; our server was so kind and attentive. We couldn't have asked for a better meal! My family and I have visited Bayleaf periodically for years, and we're never disappointed! The food is delicious, beautifully presented, and reasonably priced. The service has always been friendly and professional. We love this restaurant, and hope to continue visiting for years to come.
I wish I took pictures but man they have the best butter chicken and garlic naan bread I've ever had! Service was also prompt and awesome! Found this place from my wife and I's drive from Seattle to Calgary. Definitely stop by when you're Cranbrook, you won't be disappointed!
The restaurant offers delicious, authentic Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes that are sure to please. The flavors are outstanding, and you have the option to select your preferred spice level. You really can’t go wrong here!
